A special recipe from our Belgian Chef

This pandemic has been the occasion for many of us to spend more time home in the kitchen and learn new recipes. Our fellow countryman, Mr. Marc Fontenelle, who is Executive Chef at the Serena hotel in Islamabad has accepted to share with us the secret of his Banana Walnut Cake.

Ingredients 125 gr. butter100 gr. Brown sugar100 gr. walnuts chopped125 gr. self-rising flour2 beaten eggs3 mashed bananas1 tea spoon of bicarbonate of soda3 cl. Milk1 cl. boiling water

Method

Cream butter, sugar and water together.Gradually add eggs, then the mashed bananas.Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in milk and add flour alternately with milk to banana mixture.Add chopped walnuts.Bake at 180C for about an hour or until knife comes out clean.
