A two-day art and craft exhibition of the students of the Rawalpindi Arts Council began at the Council’s Art Gallery. The exhibition was inaugurated by Rizwan Sharif, Executive Director, Punjab Council of the Arts, Lahore during his first visit to Rawalpindi after his new posting. Director Rawalpindi Arts Council Waqar Ahmed was also present.
Appreciating the artwork of the students, Rizwan Sharif said that our new generation is talented and he was impressed by the artwork of students of Pothohar area. He said the Punjab Government has also taken valuable steps for the welfare of the artists like the Artists Support Fund and more facilities are being provided to art students at Art Councils in Punjab.
The works of art students enrolled in courses of textile designing, interior and fashion designing, flower making, cutting & sewing, jewellery making, poetry decoration, candle making, painting and calligraphy were displayed the student of music class has also give their performance.
Mr. Rizwan Sharif said that the artists are the beautiful face of our culture who highlight the culture of Pakistan in the country and abroad through their works and skills. He added that Rawalpindi Arts Council is playing its vital role not only in promoting cultural activities but also providing ample space to the young students to explore their talent. Naheed Manzoor also appreciated the efforts of the Council for promoting cultural activities and providing platform to the young generation for introducing their art work in befitting manners.
