For obvious reasons, it will not be possible to organize the celebrations of the National Day of Belgium in the same way as they have taken place since 1831. However, alternative online festivities have been developed: on 21 July, the anniversary of the coronation of the first Belgian King, people all over the world will be able to take part in an online quiz about Belgium. The winner of the quiz to be organized in Pakistan/Afghanistan will be announced on 21 July at 6pm (Pakistan time). The prize for the winner will be typically Belgian, to be handed over by the end of Summer.
If you would like to take part in the quiz, you can register on our Facebook page. You can also access the quiz by clicking on this link. You will have time until 21 July, 3pm (Pakistan time) to answer all the questions.
In addition to this quiz, a concert will be organized with the support of the Foreign Ministry at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. This concert, called “HOPE”, can be followed live online all over the world.
It will take place on 21 July, the duration is approximately 75 minutes. It will consist of pieces that represent two centuries of musical heritage, including work composed by Bach, Händel, Halverson, Vivaldi, Brahms, Beethoven, Schubert, Massenet, Fauré, Offenbach and Gershwin.
