Independence day of Islamic Republic of Pakistan is celebrated on 14th August of every years. Likewise previous years, the Pakistani nation is celebrating its independence day as it was obtained as a result of limitless freedom fight under the leadership of Father of the Nation Quaid E Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Books inherit the history of nations, their present and upon the basis of this history one can easily portray the future progress of a nation.

In order to highlight and acknowledge the sacrifices of forefathers of the Pakistani nation, the Department of Libraries, Chief Commissioner Office has organized a three days Book Exhibition for public at Quaid Public Library F-9 Park Islamabad from 13th August 2021. Syeda Shafaq Hashmi, Director General ICT visited the exhibition and committed that in order to acknowledge Pakistan Movement and spread awareness about it, such kind of activities will continue in the all the 09 libraries till the end of this month. Muhammad Arshad Sheikh, Director (Technical Services) welcomed all the participants to the exhibition on the behalf of Department of Libraries and briefed about the role and importance of this Book Exhibition and told that this book exhibition will definitely spread awareness about freedom struggle of Pakistan among youngsters.

Books on Freedom Movement, about Freedom Fighters, struggle for Pakistan, creation of Pakistan, Ideology, political history, and cultural heritage and about beautiful valleys/localities in Pakistan are displayed on the occasion. People from all walks of life, irrespective of their age, race, religion and region can visit this exhibition. All participants and visitors appreciated this effort of the Department.
