A misleading new item has been published in a section of the press claiming that holders of two-year degree programme will be required to complete a four-year BS programme. The report is totally baseless and highly misleading.
HEC has not discontinued or terminated the two-year degree programme. It has only been renamed as Associate Degree. Initially, even the curriculum structure and mode of examination will remain unchanged.
In the meantime, through consultations will all the stakeholders, the scheme of studies will be revamped in order to improve its quality and ensure that graduates are able to succeed in the economic environment.
Holders of the Associate Degree will also be allowed to join the four-year BS programme if they so wish.
