Legendary tabla player Ustad Abdul Sattar Tari presented a stunning exhibition of instrumental and live classical music at the PNCA auditorium. That was second episode of musical series “Saaz Samandar” a tribute to renowned Tabla player Ustad Abdul Sattar Khan Tari. DG PNCA Dr. Fouzia Saeed complimented the distinguished guest and payed gratitude to him for accepting the invitation in such a tight schedule. She said that it’s a matter of great honor that he spares his precious time to perform at PNCA.
She stated that PNCA is committed to promote and preserve the work of great artists and also working on expanding PNCA’ activities to other stations all across the Pakistan.
Belonging to the Punjab gharana of Tabla players Tari, is a disciple of Ustad Mian Shokat Hussain Khan, Great Tabla player of the sub continent. Tari started his career by accompanying great singers like Mehdi Hassan Ghulam Ali, Pandit Jasraj, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Roshan Ara Begum. Later he developed interest in singing after having training from Mehdi Hassan, became anaccomplished singer as well. Audience was spellbound when the performance started and his skill was evident. He also presented various ghazals.
Along with some phenomenal tabla performances he sung following classical ghazals “kobaku phail gye”, “Zindagi me to sabhi” “ranjish he sahi”, “jo cahty hu sou” and go zara c bat pr “. Audiences gave huge round of applaud to his all performances.
