A moot on Hazrat Shah Hamdan was arranged to mark birth anniversary of the great Sufi poet of Asia Hazrat Syed Ali Hamdani at Punjab Council of the Arts. The conference was presided by prominent scholar Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi.
While addressing the conference, Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi said that Hazrat Syed Ali Hamdani was a cultural bridge between Pakistan, Kashmir and Central Asia. Kashmir was doomed bloodsheds and murders. After his arrival in Kashmir, it becomes a peaceful region. Renowned historian Dr. Riaz said Hazrat Shah Hamdan had introduced Kashmiris to the carpet-industry and other arts. Allama Dr Hasan Amjad Hamdani said that Hazrat Syed Ali Hamdani had written 170 books while 5 of them are known to us. We need to drive a comprehensive strategy on their own writing and writing is essential. Shah Hamdan Association General Scretary Saghar Abbas Hamdani demanded the Government of Kashmir and Pakistan to hold special events on the birthday and death anniversary of Hazrat Shah Hamdan. Naeem Akram Qureshi said that the government needed to publish the unpublished drafts of Hazrat Shah Hamdan so that the spiritual knowledge may be reached a new generation. At the end of the conference, Sibtain Raza paid tribute to Hazrat Shah Hamdan. The association also demanded that the international community must play its role to lift curfew in Indian Occupied Kashmir. At the end of the conference Special prayers were offered for the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
