Rawalpindi, Federal Secretary National History and Literary Heritage Division Dr Nadeem Shafiq Malik has said that Punjab has a long history and rich cultural heritage and folk music of Punjab has its own charm and is very attractive like cultural heritage of Punjab. He stated this as chief guest at Punjab Folk Night at Lok Mela arranged by Punjab Council of the Arts on the directions of Executive Director PUCAR Muhammad Rizwan Sharif. Executive Director Lok Virsa Anwar ul Haq and Director Punjab Council of the Arts Rawalpindi Waqar Ahmed were also accompanied by him. He said that it was appreciable step of PUCAR to invite singers and performers from every part of Punjab. Folk singers Afshan Zebi, Khuram Zeeshan, Imran Shaukat, Bashir Lohar, Mushtaq Niazi, Saen Zahoor Iqbal, Asma Rajpot, Abuzar Ghafari, Ahmed Ali, Hasnain Abbas, Jamil Lohar, and Qurban Niazi gave enchanting performance while folk dance party from Fateh Jang presented sami dance, folk dance party from DG Khan presented Sword Dance and Shaukat Qalanderi gave performance on dhol. Punjab Folk Night remained for three hours among jam-packed open air theater.
