International flights to and from Pakistan have remained suspended from the end of March until early June. Only special repatriation flights were allowed during this period. The Belgian Embassy has coordinated closely with Embassies of other European countries to make sure that European citizens who wished to travel could do so within a reasonable time-frame and at affordable rates. We also co-organized a special repatriation flight from Islamabad to Amsterdam in early May, to allow Belgian, Dutch, Swiss and other European nationals to travel back to their homes. On this occasion, a light meal was offered to the passengers – before sunrise as the flight took place during the month of Ramadan.
